It
was created
in 1937
with more
than 7,000
km2 of
mountains,
glaciers
and lakes
and today
it is
the third
reservation
of fresh
water
of the
planet.
It has
been declared
Natural
Property
of Humanity
by Unesco
in 1981.
Among
the glaciers
that are
within
the Park,
the most
well known
is the
PERITO
MORENO
with more
than 3
km wide,
60 m high
and the
show of
its ice
blocs
separating
from the
iceberg
is an
experience
impossible
to describe.
EL CALAFATE
is the
locality
situated
at the
south
of Lago
Argentino
and from
where,
after
making
a 78 km
trip,
you can
visit
the glacier
viewpoint.
It is
also the
starting
point
to sail
over the
waters
of the
lake and
to watch
glaciers
like Upsala,
Onetti
and Spegazzini.
EL CHALTEN:
It is
the youngest
town in
Argentina
and it
offers
the possibility
of discovering
one of
the most
beautiful
and hidden
places
of the
planet.
It is
a place
to do
trekking,
horse
riding,
fishing
and climbing
of the
Fitz Roy
or Torres
